Creating new families - recruitment, training, family study,
matching, transition, placement, supervision, crisis intervention and
finalization of adoption; particular emphasis on finding permanent families
for older children and youth from the public welfare systems; Educating the Community - speaking at organizations, publishing adoption material, adoption library, interviews on radio and television shows; Educating other social service professionals - training workshops throughout the United States, internships and field placements to BA / MA level students; Providing other adoption related services in the community - counseling pregnant women and their families who have given birth to a handicapped baby, counseling adult adoptees, assisting teachers, nurses, etc. who call for help with specific adoption-related issues, assisting families planning their own independent, interstate, or international adoptions by providing timely comprehensive family studies, updates and post placement supervision. |
